Boundary Park Fishery

Description
Boundary Park is primarily a carp and bream water, as a predator angler you can find yourself being the only pike angler on the water for weeks upon end. Boundary holds a good head of small to medium fish of around 10 - 15lb; nothing massive but if its sport you're after then this is the place, with catches of ten or more fish in a day fairly common. The water is about 20 acres with depths of 2 - 17ft and usually quite clear. Because it is a Carp Lake early arrival is necessary to get the best swims, night fishing is permitted, live baiting is not. There are toilets on site, a shop selling food cigarettes and newspapers.

Tactics
During the warmer months, the pike can be found holding around the water lilies that grow in abundance around the shallow areas of the lake, simply casting a suspended dead bait into these areas can bring action right through the day. Lures worked around these areas also bring good sport; spinner baits often produce the most lure caught fish. With the arrival of colder weather, fishing is best concentrated around the deeper north end of the lake, a paternostered bait is often the key to regular catches. The most successful baits for me at this time of the year have been sardines and herring set at about 4ft deep.

Tickets
Available from both bank and shop £5 for two rods. Season tickets £50 per year or closed season ticket at £25 per season (includes night fishing)

Location
From Newcastle take the A50 towards Holmes Chapel, from there go straight across the roundabout staying on the A50 for about 5 miles. Boundary is on the left, look out for the "Boundary Stores" sign, pull in here the lake is behind the shop.
